Easy Snack: Honey-glazed Sweet Potato Donut Holes with Chia Seeds


Here is a healthier alternative to our typical sugar-filled donut holes -great for kids and for health-conscious mommies and daddies, too! 

Honey-glazed Sweet Potato Donut Holes with Chia Seeds




Ingredients (makes 10 1.5" donut holes) 

2 small golden sweet potatoes
1/8 cup of milk
1 tsp chia seeds
1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
Olive oil for frying
1-2 tbsp of raw honey 



  1. Peel and boil the sweet potatoes until they are soft.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the chia seeds with the milk so that they turn gelatinous before the sweet potatoes cook. 
  3. Add the softened sweet potatoes to the milk + chia seeds. Mash the sweet potatoes and mix them until you get a homogenous mixture.
  4. Form 1 - 1.5-inch balls with your mashed sweet potato mixture and coat them lightly with flour before frying. 
  5. Fry the sweet potato balls until their outside turns crispy. 
  6. Glaze the fried sweet potato balls with raw honey.
