Arroz a la Cubana
Y's brunch today is a Filipino household staple. Served with scrambled egg strips and grilled plantains (saba), this dish is perfect even for younger babies who are just starting out with baby-led weaning.

Ingredients
100 grams of lean ground meat (beef, pork, or chicken)
1/2 cup of diced carrots
1 tablespoon tomato sauce
Onion and garlic for sauteing
1 whole ripe plantain (saba)
1 egg
Chopped basil leaves (optional)
- On a non-stick pan, fry/grill your saba slices until both sides are crispy. Set aside.
- (On the same pan) Fry your scrambled egg (no seasoning). Set aside and slice into 1-inch-wide strips.
- Saute your ground meat over minced garlic onions. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes until the meat is cooked.
- Once the meat is cooked. put in the diced carrots and tomato sauce. Let simmer for 5-10 minutes until the diced carrots become soft.
- As an optional step, you may add fresh chopped basil leaves to add a little twist to the traditional minced meat dish.
- Serve the egg strips, grilled banana, and minced meat with rice.
