Baby Bento: Braised Beef with Pechay (Bok Choy)

Braised beef has always been one of our well-loved Chinese dishes. Today, I introduced beef to Y for the first time by cooking this household favorite. I used prime sirloin so that it wouldn't turn chewy when cooked.

Ingredients

1/8 kilo prime sirloin (beef), cut thinly into strips
2 pechay (bok choy) heads
2 cups of water
1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional)

Procedure

  1. In a pot, boil your beef with water (and soy sauce) until the meat is soft and cooked. This can take around 20-30 minutes.
  2. Put your pechay leaves into your beef and broth mixture. Simmer for around 2-3 minutes.
  3. Serve with rice.
