Review: Kidzoona Shangri-la Plaza

Our going to Kidzoona was rather on an impulse -the night before we went, I had badly wanted to take Y out to somewhere where the three of us could all enjoy. After scanning through a few Mommy reviews online (all of which were positive), my husband and I decided to take Y to Kidzoona last Saturday. Our experience was truly one for the books.

My happy 12-month-old!

Kidzoona is owned and operated by AEON Fantasy Group Philippines, Inc -the local arm of a Japanese company specializing in the operation of entertainment facilities throughout Asia. They currently have 26 branches all over the Philippines. As they are based in malls, we had expected that they will be a lot of kids (and parents) especially on weekends.
We opted to go to their EDSA Shangri-la Plaza branch as it is one of the nearest to our place. Their Uptown BGC branch was also an option because it is one of the newer branches, but we found going to BGC on a weekend to be very tiresome.

This is a  rough view of how big (and crowded the area) is.
We got there at around 3 PM which was just ideal as the place was closed for a private function until 2. There were no queues, and all we had to do was fill up a form and pay for the entrance fees. We paid PHP 450 for a 90-minute play time. Their rates can be found here: Kidzoona Admission Fees.
As expected, it was already a little bit crowded inside but we were still able to make the most out of our stay. Our 12-month-old was one of the smallest kids that time, but that didn't prevent him (nor us) from having so much fun.
Y loves wooden toys!

There are around 7 stations in Kidzoona Shangri-la (and even more in other branches, I think). We allotted several minutes on each station so that we were able to try everything in 1 hours. We spent the remaining 30 minutes on the stations where Y had fun the most: role playing town and the ball pit.
Daddy and Y did some grocery shopping!

We found Kidzoona very ideal as parents (and even older siblings) could also enjoy and bond with their children. For one, my husband and I loved playing in all of the stations (especially the inflatable slides), maybe even more than Y. I think that the perfect time to go there is when the kids are around 2-5 years old.

Tips

  • Don't forget to wear/bring socks. Conveniently, they also have socks available at the counter.
  • If possible, wear trousers. I scraped my knee while sliding down the non-inflatable slide. :(
  • Go there on a full stomach. Nearing the end of our 90 minutes, we noticed that Y was feeling hungry (perhaps from all the playing) that he was starting to eat the balls in the ball pit!
We are definitely going back to Kidzoona in the near future!
This is probably one of my favorite parts of Kidzoona. :)

Y enjoyed this so much that we bought a similar toy at Rustan's.
